If last week’s post wasn’t enough Eleuthera for you- never fear! I have put together a second Eleuthera guide- this time to some of the islands favorite establishments.
Although each of these guides take up roughly half a day, I wouldn’t recommend trying to do both in one day. Despite how small Eleuthera is, it is still very long and it would be a lot of driving- and not as much time to actually enjoy the views!
Remember, you’re on island time!
Buccaneer Club
Let’s start with breakfast! On my last guide, I recommended Squires Cafe- still a great option!
If you were looking for something a little less casual, however, check out Buccaneer’s Club right in Governor’s Harbor. This locally owned restaurant is a fan favorite for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
In this case, I highly suggest ordering the popular Coconut Rum French Toast. How much more Caribbean can it get?
Leon Levy Preserve
A hidden gem, The Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve is a haven for Bahamian plants and natural history. Founded in 2003 and opened in 2011, the preserve offers a variety of trails to explore. From mangrove boardwalks, to edible gardens to a showcase of traditional medicinal plants- it’s a wonderful collection of plants, and really well organized! I was really impressed by how well constructed the trails are- it’s definitely some of the nicest gardens I’ve been in.
You can spend as much or as little time here as you like, and they even do yoga sessions! We didn’t stay for too long as the sun was brutal even in the shade!

The Potlach Club
Next stop- the Potlatch Club. This gorgeous resort features stunning landscaping, several pools, and a beautiful stretch of beach- they even seem to clear the seaweed off the beach each day!
Make sure to stop by their library room, which features documents about the history of the island and the resort itself. Did you know that Paul McCartney honeymooned here? He wrote the lyrics to at least two Beatles songs on Potlach Club branded note paper while visiting!
I was not stopped during my quiet morning visit, but I wonder if they would have had more of an issue with my visit during the high season- or if I started trying to jump in the pool!

La Bougainvillea
La Bougainvillea is another one of Eleuthera’s Boutique resorts that’s worth a visit!
It was a bit of a bumpy drive to get to them (they’re up a hill on a dirt road), but they were actively working on the road when we stopped by- maybe it’ll be better soon!
This property is a little smaller than the Potlatch Club, but they’ve still got a nice pool and a lovey sandy beach. They’ve even got a beach volleyball court!
I ordered a strawberry lemonade at the bar and kid you not- it was the best strawberry lemonade I’ve ever had. Definitely give it a try on your visit!

Island Farm
If you’re staying at an Airbnb like I was, you may like to check out Island Farm, a local grocery that offers fresh fruits and veggies, baked goods, and drinks! Even if you’re just looking for a snack it’s worth stopping by. Try the Eleuthera pineapple, it’s small but very sweet.
Tippy’s Restaurant and Beachside Bar
For lunch- or just a drink- stop by Tippy’s! This local watering hole is located right on the beach with both indoor and outdoor seating. The food is fresh, the drinks are delicious, and they’ve got live music every Wednesday and Saturday.
Just keep in mind that they’re closed on Mondays! We found that out the hard way.
