The stylish Neoclassical hotel has been a staple of Budapest since it was first built in 1896.
When I was first looking into visiting Budapest, I wanted to treat myself to a nice hotel, and the Corinthia fit the bill.
The luxurious nature of the hotel is immediately evident from the facade outside, and continues into the grand lobby area. There is a bright, high ceilinged atrium topped with a skylight to let in sunshine during the day.

The hotel offers a sophisticated Le Bar area for drinks, a fine dining restaurant called Caviar & Bull, which also hosts a secret meal experience called Uncensored that only serves 10 tables at a time. There is even a jazz club called Orfeum. Something for everyone!
The star of the show, for me, however, was the Corinthia’s Royal Spa. The art deco-style wellness oasis includes a huge swimming pool, multiple hot tubs, a sauna and a steam bath! While these amenities were included in my hotel stay, additional features such as massages and treatments could be booked at an additional cost.
If I wasn’t in my room or out in the city, you could find me in the spa.

I stayed in a Superior Twin room, which featured two twin beds- that were separated from each other- and plenty of space to spread out. As it was around 90F degrees for the duration of my visit to the city, it’s worth mentioning that the room does have air conditioning!
While pricey, visitors can get a deal on their hotel stays by signing up as a member. It’s free and it saves me about $20 a night.

As can be expected in a hotel of this caliber, the service was exceptional. Our concierge gave us a list of dinner recommendations in the area and even helped us book tours and transportation as needed.
Although I found the hotel to be a little far from tourist sites around the Danube river, the Corinthia is walking distance from places such as the Opera House and the Ruin Bars. Public transportation was readily accessible from here and made it easy to get to those further away locations.
All in all, I really enjoyed this hotel! I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
