Day One
Welcome to Guadeloupe!
You’ve probably arrived into the Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport. Once you make your way through Customs, follow the signs to pick up your pre-booked rental car.
Most rental cars are a short shuttle away from the airport. Once you pick up your car, head to your hotel- I recommend staying at La Creole Beach Hotel + Spa, which has a great spot along the beach of a protected cove and several restaurants.

Depending on your arrival time, I recommend exploring Le Gosier, which is just a short walk away, or otherwise just enjoying the amenities at the resort. I was offered a complimentary drink upon arrival and enjoyed it while lounging on the beach.

Day Two
Let’s explore our home base of Grande-Terre!
Enjoy breakfast at the resort before heading out on the island.
Stop to shop the markets of Sainte-Anne, then head all the way out East to Pointe de Chateaux.

Enjoy sunset at Pointe de la Grande Vigie, then stop for dinner at Anse Bertrand.
Most of these locations are only about 30 minutes away from one another and will take the better part of the day to visit at a leisurely pace.

Make sure to stop at some of the tiny beaches on the way to Pointe de Chateaux!

Day Three
Let’s check out the green and mountainous island of Basse-Terre today! Make sure to wake up early today since a lot of these top sights have limited parking, and it can get pretty crowded as the day goes on.
Make sure to stop by Les Chutes du Carbet and its iconic second waterfall for a perfect morning in the rainforest.
Next, stop by Bains Jaunes for a refreshing swim in the hot springs! You can go on another hike here if you wish- several trails start from this same trailhead.
Pop over to the town of Vieux-Fort for some lunch with a great view.
After lunch, I chose to spend the rest of my day at the beach- Plage de Malendure is particularly popular.
If you’ve got a little more time and energy, check out the Zoo or the Botanical Gardens instead. It’s a great way to spend a day.

Day Four
Let’s head over to one of the gorgeous islands off the cost of Guadeloupe. I recommend a visit to Les Saintes. The tiny island is only a 30 minute ferry from Trois-Rivières ferry port. You can even see the island from the port!
Les Saintes is a carless island, so I recommend renting an electric scooter or golf cart to get around.
The island is fun to explore- and with a ton of different beaches, there’s always somewhere beautiful to have a relaxing beach day!
Make sure to try some Tourment d’amour, a famous of Les Saintes.

Day Five
If you’re lucky enough to have a late flight home, make sure to relax in the sunshine before your flight home! I woke up early to soak in the sun at my hotel pool before making my way back to the airport.
Make sure to allow enough time to return your car!
Guadeloupe’s Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport has a surprisingly large selection of duty free shopping, so make sure to stock up on any last minute gifts before your return flight.
